    PSE Exhaust Hack "GUNDO HACK"

A "GUNDO HACK", is turning a stock 997 muffler into a PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust).

This is accomplished by welding a 1.5"-2" pipe connecting the 2 pipes of the muffler.

It creates a much deeper and louder sound than stock, similar or better than the PSE.

This can be done by any local muffler shop for about $200.

Just remove mufflers, take them to a muffler shop and show them these pictures, and say: "DO THIS!"

Here are some POST GUNDO HACK PICTURES:

BTW the "GUNDO HACK" is called that because it was popularized by forum member gundo, after he posted pictures and explanations and decided to do the hack with a larger diameter pipe (2").

Prior it was just called PSE HACK.

I've seen (& heard) many 996's with this mod, & I really like the way it sounds, plus it's cheap & easy to do. Does anyone know if this mod would work on aftermarket mufflers to further enhance sound? I have Fabspeeds on my car & have searched on several forums to see if anyone's done it, but no luck.

Lol, alright, lemme know how the project goes. I'm really interested in this... Haha, I'm about to put my car up for sale, & I STILL want to mod it. WTF is wrong with me?! Porsche modding is worse than crack.

Is this for real? Any horsepower gains expected with this simple mod? I might have one of my factory welders do it for me this weekend!

No horsepower gains but makes the car exhaust sound MUCH DEEPER and Better.

These are pics of my 997.1 S mufflers hacked.

Its the best and cheapest mod that can be done, and makes the exhaust sound better than most aftermaket exhausts.

it's basically allowing air to pass straight though the exhaust without going through the muffler. It's a partial straight pipe
